The Fools//October 184th, 2024

It's hard, sometimes, not to feel like a costumed clown, out in a world that you feel no real connection to, except for during that one specific time.  I wonder, sometimes, am I the fool? Or is it everyone else? Do I sit behind a billowing black veil, unable to see past the shadows, or is it that no one else really sees me, or even the potential within themselves to be more than they are? Sometimes it feels like a cruel joke, to fit in for a season and then be cast out once again.  But how, I must ask, can it be foolish to simply live your own truth? To do what makes you happy, regardless of how others perceive you?  Perhaps I will sit behind this veil forever then, or at least until my time comes again. I don't think it's foolish, at all.

Terrifier 2//October 14th, 2022

As you probably know, my taste in Halloween-y things ranges from things meant for people years (okay, sometimes decades ) younger than myself, to the darkest of horrors. I love spooky cute, but I also love a good gore fest, especially when it's set on Halloween night. At almost two and a half hours long, this is a movie some people simply may need a pee break halfway through. A few people behind me did gasp a lot, though.  Aside from a few moments that triggered my ommetaphobia, I got through it perfectly fine and thoroughly enjoyed...

Works of ‘Art’//October 207th, 2020

Here’s a surprise I bet no one saw coming: I will watch virtually anything related to Halloween. From the most silly, childish TV special to the darkest of horrors, if I think some sort of media will capture the essence of my favorite time of year, you can most definitely bet that I’ll give it a watch. I’m not snobby, I don’t discriminate. There are some I like better than others, of course, and some I don’t like much at all, but it’s always interesting to see what’s out there. Sometimes my interest and thought process goes far beyond just the Halloween aspect of it as well. Such was the case with a movie I watched a couple of months back, called All Hallows’ Eve. If you’re involved in the horror community at all, you’ve probably at least heard or seen pictures of a character known as Art the Clown. To my knowledge, I’ve never suffered from coulrophobia. As a child, I was pretty much indifferent toward clowns. I had a clown doll from my grandfather that I treas...
